Following the outstanding success of our 15 previous annual visits to Le Mans, Club Tertre Rouge will once again offer its popular Friday evening welcome party and weekend hospitality programme.
For 80 years the French city of Le Mans has played host to the most famous motor race in the world: the 24 Heures du Mans. For many decades this race has been the ultimate trial of endurance for sports racing cars — a defining test of manufacturers' abilities, drivers' skills and stamina, and the prize for winning Le Mans is the most coveted in the world of motorsport. The roll call of winners and participants is testament to the lure of the challenge: manufacturers such as Audi, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Porsche, Bentley, Mercedes–Benz, Ferrari and Maserati, with drivers including Stirling Moss, Graham Hill, Derek Bell, Michael Schumacher, Mario Andretti, Paul Newman and Jacky Ickx. All are just some of the household names that have enjoyed success at Le Mans.
The Club Tertre Rouge weekend begins at Folkestone where the ensemble meets, greets and boards the Eurotunnel shuttle, followed by a spirited run down to Le Mans on the classic route via Abbeville, Rouen, Bernay, Gacé and Alençon. Alternatively, guests are welcome to make their own way to Le Mans, aiming to arrive on the Friday afternoon. Upon arrival, cars will be lined up and displayed within the secure grounds of our venue for the weekend, the CTR Events 2011, which is very conveniently located in Ruaudin, just 2km from the circuit entrance. The Gîte provides clean, comfortable, purpose–built accommodation for 32 people in a mixture of shared bedrooms, with plentiful bathroom facilities. (Exact accommodation arrangements will be confirmed on booking.)
On the Friday evening the Gîte will once again be the venue for our pre–Le Mans party which consists of a champagne reception, an informal barbeque, music and entertainment. We have booked a great band that will play various popular covers plus the odd special request!
Saturday 12th will begin with breakfast at the Gîte (while doubtless fending off the obligatory hangover) before heading to the circuit for the Le Mans Legend classic race. The Le Mans 24 Hours itself will commence at 3pm local time, finishing at 3pm on Sunday, and CTR minibuses will be on hand throughout the weekend to provide transport to and from the circuit to the Gîte should you wish to slip away from the action for a spot of R&R&R (rest, relaxation and refuelling).
The CTR weekend package includes three night's accommodation, secure VIP parking, circuit entrance tickets, dedicated CTR minibuses to provide transport to circuit, all meals, beer, wines and soft drinks at the Gîte and a CTR goody bag.
Price of the weekend package: £950.00. A deposit of 50% is required to secure your booking.
A maximum of 32 weekend hospitality packages available. Reservations now being taken.
Last year CTR welcomed over 200 guests to its Le Mans welcome party. Conceived to provide CTR's friends and contacts with a welcome sanctuary away from the circuit, the champagne reception and barbecue party guarantees to heighten anticipation of the race, and this is further enhanced by appearances by competing teams and drivers as well Aston Martin VIPs such as CEO Dr Ulrich Bez and Chairman David Richards.
We are already well underway with planning another great party for 2011 and have now confirmed a band, to be announced soon. We are also planning to stage a display of the finest Aston Martins from the last 50 years, including, hopefully, some very special Aston Martin Racing cars. We also expect to welcome various drivers from both the 24 Hour and the 'Le Mans Legend' historic race.
In 2010 many proud Aston Martin owners arrived in their cars, and this resulted in an impressive variety ranging from a freshly restored DB4GT and DB5 convertible, to a selection of 1980s V8s plus many 'new era' cars including several Vanquishes and a DB9. The CTR organisers inspected the cars on display and presented two informal awards during the course of the evening: 'The Concours Award' for the best presented car which also best represented the spirit of the event, and the 'The Spirit of Le Mans Award' for the CTR guest who was deemed to have most adequately fulfilled that criterion.
Tickets for the 2011 CTR Friday Night Party are currently available to 'non–residents' for £75.00 per person.
